Otis, ócidis. pen. cor. Plin. A birde where of both auncient and late writers haue diuers opinions. I thinke it vpon good cõiectures to be that we call a Bustarde or Bistarde. Vide OTVS.
Otus, ti, m. gen. A birde called an horne owle hauing feathers standing vp like to eares, and will learne to counterfaite doing of things. Plinie and some other auncient writers confounde this name with Otis, and thinke it to be one birde. Vide OTIS.
