Importá-re, v. a.
1. to signify, denote, mean, have a signification or meaning; 2. to amount to, come to. Il tutto importa dieci scudi, the whole comes to ten crowns. La spesa importa più di quel che credeva, the expense amounts to more than I thought; 3. to concern, import, matter, signify. Questo importa a me, non a lui, that concerns me, not him. Non importa,'tis no matter. Non m'importa nulla, it is nothing to me. Che importa a voi? what's that to you? Ciò m'importa molto, that is of great consequence to me; 4. to import goods, &c.; 5. to hide.
