Strétto, s. m.
1. a narrow place; 2. straits.Lo — di Gibilterra, the straits of Gibraltar. Passar per lo stretto de'nimici, to pass through the thickest of the enemies; 3. distress, perplexity, difficulty, trouble. Mi trovo in molti grandi stretti, I find myself in several great difficulties or troubles.
