Stillá-re, v. a.
1. to distil, extract the spirit; 2. (fig.) to instil, infuse principles or notions;v. n. 1. to drop, drop down in drops; 2. to melt down, be very hot; 3. to clarify, grow clear. Il vino quanto più stà, tanto più stilla,the longer wine stands, the clearer it becomes;v. r. — il cervello, to puzzle one's brains about a thing.
