Spiccáre, v. a.
1. to detach or remove a thing from the place where it is fixed; 2. to detach from, wrest, pull away, snatch off; 3. to sever, separate. — la testa ad uno, to cut off a person's head. — salti, to leap, jump, skip. — le parole, to pronounce words distinctly or articulately. — una canzone, to sing. — uno da, to make a person depart; v. n. to excel, shine, show itself above others.
