Plautus, A comical Poet, borne in Vmbria: when he had spent all his substaunce on Players garments, and thereby was brought to ertreme pouertie he was fayne for his liuing to serue a baker in turning a querne, or handmill. When hee was vacant from that labour, hee mrote most eloquent and pleasaunt Comedies, wherein hee was reputed so ercellent, that Epins Stolo sayde of him, hee doubred not, buc that the Muses would speake as Plautus did write, if they shoulde speake Latine. Hee was in the time of Cato Censorius.
