Heródotus, Was a noble historian, borne in the citie of Halilicarnassus in Asia. He wrote most eloquently a generall historie of the actes done in Europa and Asia, by the space of 240. yeares, vntill the warres among the Greekes, called Bellum Peloponnesiacum, which Thucidides, with an equall stile wrote and perfourmed. He flourished before the incarnation of Christ 200 yeares.
